Romantic Lord Hill Farms Wedding in Snohomish

There are wedding days that just feel like a really good party from the moment you arrive, and Haley and Malik’s wedding at Lord Hill Farms in Snohomish was absolutely one of them.

Getting Ready at Lord Hill Farms

The morning started with everyone getting ready and soaking in those last few quiet moments before the celebration really began.

Haley spent time with her bridesmaids as they helped her into her stunning floral lace gown. On Malik’s side, the guys were getting into their classic black suits and helping each other with the finishing touches.

A First Look with Dad

One of my favorite moments of the day was Haley’s first look with her dad, Mark. These father-daughter first looks are always special, but this one had a little bit of comedy mixed in. As Haley went in for a hug, her veil decided it had other plans and fell right off!

And honestly? I loved it.

Not every wedding moment is perfectly polished, and that's exactly what makes wedding days feel real. Sometimes the veil falls off. Sometimes someone starts laughing at the wrong time. Sometimes the moment you thought would go one way takes an entirely different turn. Those are the moments you end up remembering.

After the laughs, Haley gave her dad a pair of personalized cufflinks featuring a childhood photo of the two of them. It was such a thoughtful gift and made the whole first look even more meaningful. You could see just how much that moment meant to both of them.

Haley & Malik’s First Look

Then came the moment these two had been waiting for: Haley and Malik’s first look. After all the anticipation of the morning, they finally got to see each other. And once the initial excitement settled down, we took advantage of the beautiful grounds at Lord Hill Farms for family portraits and wedding party photos.

One thing I love about a venue like Lord Hill Farms is that you can move between different backgrounds without spending your entire wedding day traveling from location to location. The gardens, trees, open spaces, and architecture around the property give you plenty of variety for portraits.

We were able to get all of the important family photos and wedding party combinations done while still keeping the day moving!

And, of course, there was plenty of laughing in between the "everyone look at the camera" photos!

An Emotional Outdoor Ceremony at Lord Hill Farms

The ceremony space at Lord Hill Farms really is something special. With the outdoor setting, towering greenery, open views, and beautiful floral-covered ceremony arbor, it creates a romantic backdrop without needing to overcomplicate things. Haley and Malik were surrounded by their closest friends and family as they exchanged vows, and there wasn't much of a dry eye in the crowd.

The ceremony felt emotional and romantic while still being very much them.

For couples considering Lord Hill Farms for their own Snohomish wedding venue, the ceremony space is one of the biggest draws. You get the feeling of an outdoor garden wedding while still having a dedicated venue and reception space for the rest of the celebration.

A Little Newlywed Time During Cocktail Hour

After the ceremony, we snuck away for a few couples portraits while everyone else headed toward cocktail hour.

This is one of my favorite parts of a wedding day because it gives couples a chance to actually be married for a minute.

You just spent months planning this day, and suddenly you're husband and wife. Getting a few quiet minutes together away from the crowd gives you a chance to breathe, take it all in, and enjoy each other before heading back into the party.

Cocktails, Candid Moments & A Little Dancing

Once we made our way back, cocktail hour was in full swing. This was one of those cocktail hours where there was something happening everywhere you looked. Guests were mingling, catching up, laughing, grabbing drinks, and enjoying the beautiful afternoon.

As a documentary-style Snohomish wedding photographer, these are some of my favorite moments to photograph. There isn't any pressure to pose or perform. People are simply enjoying themselves, which makes for some of the most genuine images from the day.

And then Haley and Malik decided to have a little fun of their own! The two of them shared a spontaneous little dance next to the violinist during cocktail hour, and it was such a fun snapshot of their personalities. Just married, surrounded by their favorite people, and already dancing together before the reception had even started.

A Moody & Romantic Lord Hill Farms Reception

When guests moved into the reception, the atmosphere shifted completely. The reception space at Lord Hill Farms had a moody, romantic feel, with warm lighting, hanging greenery, white florals, and draped fabric throughout the room. After the bright outdoor ceremony, stepping inside felt cozy and intimate.

Haley and Malik made their grand entrance, which led right into their first dance to Taylor Swift’s Lover. Honestly, it was the perfect soundtrack for the moment. Then everyone settled in for dinner, followed by more heartfelt speeches and plenty of laughter.

Sunset Newlywed Photos

After dinner, we grabbed Haley and Malik and headed back outside for sunset portraits. The Snohomish landscape around Lord Hill Farms gave us a completely different look from their earlier portraits indoors. The soft evening light, trees, open fields, and water created a beautiful backdrop for some quiet newlywed photos.

By this point in the day, the nerves were gone. They were married, the formalities were mostly finished, and we could just let them enjoy each other. These ended up being some of my favorite portraits of the two of them.

Speeches, Stories & Lots of Emotion

The speeches were another highlight of the evening.

The father of the bride and groom’s brother shared stories about Haley and Malik, bringing plenty of laughs and a few emotional moments along the way.

There is something really special about hearing the people closest to a couple put their relationship into words. It's one of the reasons I love having plenty of time built into a wedding photography timeline for speeches and candid reactions.

A Fun Cake Cutting

The cake cutting was definitely not one to take too seriously! Haley and Malik had a lot of fun with the moment, feeding each other a quick bite before Haley added a little extra playfulness by getting frosting right on Malik’s nose. It was one of those simple, silly moments that perfectly captured their personalities and had everyone laughing.

Let the Dancing Begin

And then it was time to open up the dance floor. The rest of the night was exactly what you'd hope for at a wedding: music, friends, family, laughter, and a whole lot of dancing.

After spending so much of the day making sure all the important moments happened, it was fun to step back and simply document everyone letting loose. The dance floor filled up, people celebrated with Haley and Malik, and the evening ended with the kind of joyful energy that makes wedding days so much fun to photograph.

Meet the team that made this gorgeous day happen!
