New Year’s Eve Wedding at The Ruins, Seattle
If you're looking for a wedding venue that blends old-world charm with artistic flair, The Ruins in Seattle might just be your dream location. Nestled in Lower Queen Anne, this iconic venue feels like a secret European manor tucked into the heart of the city. With its hand-painted murals, moody lighting, and vintage decor, it’s easy to see why so many couples fall in love with it.
As a Seattle wedding photographer, The Ruins is one of my favorite places to photograph. Every room tells its own story—and that’s exactly what we captured during this unforgettable wedding.
Megan and David chose The Ruins for their intimate, romantic wedding, and the venue could not have been a more perfect match. They exchanged vows surrounded by close friends and family in the Ballroom, where candlelight and chandeliers added a layer of warmth and grandeur to the ceremony.
One of my favorite moments was slipping away with the couple into one of the quieter rooms. Just the two of them, caught in a private breath between the celebration. Those in-between moments often carry the most magic—the way they looked at each other, the quiet joy, the feeling of being fully present. The Ruins offers so many intimate nooks that are perfect for these quiet portraits.
Later, the reception space transformed into an inviting dinner party, where candlelight danced across crystal and china, and guests toasted beneath chandeliers. Megan and David ended the evening watching the New Year’s Eve fireworks over the Space Needle.
